Problem: A celebrity news website was growing and hiring new writers on a regular basis. Because all writers have to follow a specific process for writing and publishing their works, the website’s team needed a quick guide that new writers could refer to as they familiarize themselves with the job.
Research:
I interviewed an experience writer of the site to understand their whole process from beginning to end.
Based on the information, I categorized their process into four steps (brainstorming, introducing, writing, and publishing).
I gathered that most writers will only use this job aid at the beginning of their job. After a few months, they will be able to follow this process from memory.
Design:
I designed the job aid using the website’s brand colors (purple and white).
Multiple revisions were given to our SME for feedback until the final product was agreed upon. Feedback mostly pertained to using the right terminology.
